Minor Home Modification and Accessibilities is a program that allows eligible patients to receive minor home modifications to their home or apartment. The eligible recipient does not have to own the home to receive this service. All Minor Home Modifications are performed under the Texas Accessibility Standards – similar but more stringent than the federally recognized ADA standards. Minor home modifications vary depending on the needs of our patients. The following are examples:
-
Complete bathroom shower conversion to accessibility standards
-
Roll-in ceramic tile accessible showers
-
Widen doorways to wheelchair accessible standards
-
Walkways leveled and flooring installed as required
-
Grab bars
-
Heater and ventilators in bathrooms
-
Accessible toilets and lavatories
-
Electrical work as required
